Up & Down the Coast

We want to dedicate this issue to Chuck Irvine, beloved husband of Ann, who passed away after a long battle with cancer on February 1, 2012. Chuck loved this part of the world and had been coming down since the 1980s. You can read about their travels in A Kayak Story. After years of coming to the area, they finally built their dream house, Casa del Perro Feliz on Tankah Bay. His love rubbed off on his sister Julie and brother-in-law Woody Brenton who built a home right next door. Chuck will be greatly missed!

In our efforts to help Promote and Protect the Yucatan we ran across this story about the trash on the beaches. We want to encourage everyone to take a garbage bag when you go to some of your favorite remote beaches and help pick it up. And let us know what you are finding and from where, or send a photo!
