Know Your Mexican Wildlife
One of the truly wonderful things about the Yucatan is the amazing assortment of wildlife in this area. But with so much of it, how are you to know what that fuzzy thing was that just crossed the road in front of you or what that bird with the really long tail feathers is?

At Alma Libre Books we have done a great deal of research and come of with 3 books that will answer most of your questions about what you are seeing on the land, in the air and in the sea. Here are our choices:

1) The Birds of Mexico and Adjacent Areas by Ernest Preston Edwards This is, hands down, the best book to identify all the birds in the Yucatan. It features more than 850 species in a convenient, easy to carry guide. It has an excellent colour centrefold that allows for quick reference. And not only does it cover the birds that live here, it also mentions the ones that migrate here.
