Al Cielo
Located on Xpu-Ha's secluded beach, this restaurant is part of a small
boutique resort offering 4 rooms. The dining experience is elegant and the food is delightful.
How can you go wrong in such a lovely setting? With colorful streamers attached to palapas on
the beach, the setting is as pleasing to the eyes as the food is to your palate.

Cenotes West of Tulum
Perhaps this is your third or fourth trip to the Riviera Maya and you want
to escape the turquoise waves crashing outside your hotel room and explore the hidden
treasures that lie further inland. Follow author, Mari Pintkowski, as you
meander down the Coba Road and investigate a couple of new cenotes that have recently opened.

Super Saver September Celebration in Akumal
Our supporters and advertisers tell us that September on the Riviera Maya is slow. To counter
this fact, many plan to offer special pricing and other inducements for you to consider
visiting in September. Better yet, they're going to advertise these special savings on this
page. So now you can create your own Super Saver September Get-Away.

Never to old to be dazzled
It has been said that visitors leave their brains at the border. Those are the extreme cases
when childishness takes over from common sense. Examples would be when tourists rent an open
air jeep and don't bother to strap their seat belts. Or we have all seen those crazy Americans
who drink too much tequila and try to dance or, worse, speak Spanish. Oh, and there are the
radically extreme cases where someone has parasailed right into the side of a resort on
Cancun's beach. But I am not talking about the extreme cases.

Hekab be Biblioteca says goodbye to a friend
Carlos, my friend and silly guy beloved by Akumal children, has decided to move on after 8
years of dedicated service to the library. I'll miss him, and I know that many of you will
miss him as well. Carlos was not just an employee, but part of the heart and soul of the
library community.

CEA Gala a Smash
This year CEA was able to raise just over $10,000 USD from its Silent Auction, Gala Dinner
and Online Auction, held in February. These funds are dedicated to implementing its Akumal Bay
Management Program, on employing a strategy to improve water quality in the Akumal region,
and on beginning this year’s turtle nesting season with everything in place to make sure as
many hatchlings as possible safely make their way to the sea, among other goals for 2008.

An Akumal Dog Adoption Story
This is a mistake that we seem to make over and over again. Not that the
outcome is bad, but who are we trying to fool by saying we will never do certain things; such
as, never get another puppy – or never bring another dog back from Mexico.
