Paul Sánchez-Navarro is currently director of Organización Mexicana para la Conservation del Medio Ambiente, or OMCA, working to build citizens’ ability to better manage their natural resources. Before that, he was director of Centro Ecológico Akumal for 10 years.

Paul has a Master’s degree in International Relations, was Policy Advisor with WWF International, and both the WWF México Office and Pronatura. Paul has worked on development and environment issues at the local, national and international levels for more than 20 years, as well as designing policy strategies for NGOs, and participating in national efforts to improve Mexico's environmental policy framework.

Half Mexican and half U.S., Paul’s life reflects the blend of both cultures as he struggles to better understand and contribute to the relationships among democracy, economic growth and environmental stewardship.
