Stand Up Paddleboarding has found its perfect new spot in the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve!
You couldn't find a better match! If you want a truly unique experience, tour the beautiful flat-water lagoons and mangrove canals of Sian Ka'an, Standing Up. From this position you can see stingrays, crabs and fish feeding in the lagoons. As you cruise along the mangroves you will view an amazing population of migratory and year-round birds such as Great Blue Herons, egrets, night herons, Roseate Spoonbills, hawks, Ospreys, and, if you are very lucky, the famous Flamingo.
The narrow mangrove canals will make you feel like a true adventurer as you navigate through the maze of Sian Ka'an. As you pass under the bridge and into the boca (mouth) of the lagoon, you will be treated to a spectacular view of the Caribbean ocean. Here you can continue on the ocean side of Sian Ka'an for a stunning journey along the pristine coastline where you will see terns, pelicans and Ospreys, diving like kamikazes for their afternoon lunch.
By the end of the trip you will be ready for a tasty meal as well. You can dive into a delicious spread waiting for you at Boca Paila Fish Camps. The menu offers a selection of fresh fish, such as their fish salad served in a half avocado, or the fillet of the day grilled to perfection.
This is a great way to spend half a day, leaving in the morning, or enjoy a special treat during sunset, where the colors of the sun dance on the glassy waters of the lagoon. Slow down, unwind and really let yourself relax as the sun sets over another day. It is a Zen feeling you can take home with you ... and the best part of the tour is that you are in complete harmony with nature. You will leave behind only the ripple of your paddle, and this is the best feeling.
